This 1-day workshop will give helping professionals all the skills needed to be confident in working with risky & complex presentations. 

The skills you'll learn in this workshop are highly practical, evidence-based & come from highly effective dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) practices. 

Topics covered in this workshop include:

* Understanding complex & risky presentations

* The Distress Tolerance Curve

* Identifying the role of risky behaviours & increasing awareness for clients

* Skills to help clients manage times of emotional crisis & distress

* The vital role of attunement & validation

* Developing collaborative & effective safety plans that actually work

About the Facilitator:

Your facilitator for this workshop is Alex Wilson (AMSHW & Director), from Mindful Recovery Services & The Central Coast DBT Centre.

Alex has worked in the public & private mental health sector for 21+ years. She specialises in treatment for teens & adults with complex mental health issues, including personality disorders, complex PTSD & those deemed 'treatment resistant'. 

Alexis a strong advocate for compassionate & evidence-based care for all members of society, & the elimination of mental health stigma.
